I studied printmaking in undergrad at Skidmore College and in graduate school at UW-Madison. I took a book arts class and it opened a door. I have been able to teach book arts and paper making at UNC-Charlotte for twenty+ years. Manipulating simple materials - paper, thread, glue, board… students find ways to connect to visual narrative.

My interest focuses on materials and process. I try to remain open to the moment in front of me. Making it is about many things I can not fully articulate or comprehend, but on a basic level, it is about using my hands, brain and artistic intuition.
